We aim to continually evolve our product and service offer, so we’re always at the forefront of the comparison industry, helping you make an informed choice. Our customer promise demonstrates this commitment to you.

History

Gocompare.com launched in November 2006. It was the first comparison site to focus on displaying product features rather than just listing prices.

How we make money

We don't charge our customers for using our service and we do not add fees or commissions to the prices you compare; instead we make money by charging our partners a small fee once a sale has been made.

Who we work with

To ensure that our customers find the right product at the right price, we work with a range of trusted insurance providers and financial services organisations to provide a real breadth of coverage across the marketplace.
Gocompare.com also offers a variety of other products through affiliations with trusted partners. If we do introduce you to one of these companies we will always tell you who they are.
Whilst we aim to provide you with the widest possible range of companies, there are some providers that you will not find on any comparison site. For example, Direct Line and Aviva do not sell their insurance products via a comparison site, and these can only be purchased directly.

Accreditation and awards

In May 2008, Gocompare.com became the first price comparison site to be invited to join the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA). Gocompare.com remains the only comparison site with BIBA accreditation. Find out more about our BIBA accreditation^†.
Gocompare.com was named as the 'One to Watch' in the 2008 Fast Growth Business Awards. The 'One to Watch' category is for businesses incorporated in the last five years which show outstanding potential.
Hayley Parsons, founder and Chief Executive of Gocompare.com, was winner of the Woman in Business Award in the Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2009. Hayley was also the winner of The Welsh Woman in Innovation Award 2008.
In September 2009 Gocompare.com was awarded the prestigious Investors in People (IIP) award. IIP is an internationally recognised and respected mark of good practice, focused on leading, managing and developing people to improve business performance.

We will never sell on your personal information to anyone else or use it to make unwanted sales calls or send unwanted emails. You can opt out of receiving calls and emails at any time.
We have an anti-SPAM policy and do not send unsolicited (junk) email. We also do not buy customer data from third party companies.

We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and our Register number is 465053. Our permitted business is advising, arranging and making arrangements with a view to transactions in general insurance. Management and ownership

Gocompare.com is a completely independent service that was launched by a team of insurance experts who wanted to provide consumers with the ability to compare personal finance products on a like-for-like basis. Hayley Parsons is the founder and Chief Executive of Gocompare.com, and the majority shareholder.
esure Services Limited has a 49% shareholding in Gocompare.com Holdings Limited (which owns 100% of Gocompare.com Limited). esure Services Limited is a member of the esure group of companies. The esure group of companies includes esure Insurance Limited, which trades as esure, Sheilas’ Wheels and First Alternative and esure broker limited, which trades as esure broker and Sheilas’ Wheels Broker.
This does not affect how Gocompare.com is run or controlled. Gocompare.com and the esure group of companies are completely separate businesses. We do not favour any of the esure brands or its products on any of our comparison services. Our comparison results pages are ordered according to price and cover, and this is never compromised by affiliation with any business.
