Using 16.4 gallons the team managed to record an astonishing 52.01mpg. More recently Isuzu have developed their next generation D-Core diesel engine. This turbo-charged engine has already met fuel economy standards set out for 2015.

In order to be ahead of foreseeable environmental standards in 1992 Isuzu established the Isuzu Charter on the Global Environment. This helped to focus all the divisions of Isuzu in to thinking in an environmentally friendly manner. One of the many accomplishments of this Charter is that now all Isuzu vehicles are now 90% recyclable and are already on their way to achieving their next target of 95% by 2015.
