The Allroad is available with two turbodiesel two petrol engines: 2.7ltr TDI and 3.0ltr TDI and the 3.2ltr V6 and the 4.2ltr V8 petrol. It is based on the A6 Avant estate and uses the car's air suspension and Audi's Quattro four-wheel drive system to keep the large car under control through winding roads.
This is not an off-roader, but a luxury stylish barn that has sufficient space for a troop of boy scouts and all their kit. There are few places you couldn't get to in this car, but the qlaity and style is such that you really wouldn't want to get it dirty. The ride is refined and quiet, with little noise from any of the engines, wind or road. This is down to engineering and Audi's renowned build quality, which is impeccable.
The usual list of safety and security features keeps the passengers safe and the car out of the clutches of villains. These include stability control and braking distribution.
There is the same space and accommodation as the A6, but with a beefier set up. The luggage space is huge and the interior is littered with places to put things. All in all a very practical car.
