The 6-series BMW is a driver's car and the fact that there are two seats in the back is for cosmetic reasons only. Anyway, unless you ride horses at Ascot for a living you wouldn't fit in so they are a waste of time...merely an aesthetic balancing device.
It doesn't matter what power-packs are under the bonnet; whatever is chosen is going to perform beyond anyone's wildest dreams. Entry level, if there is such a thing, has the car whizzing to 60 is just over 5 seconds.
Running costs are high to say the least, but with the cheapest model coming in at nearly £50,000 and the engine sizes as they are, it is not surprising that the insurance, maintenance and petrol costs are as they are. Whatever power-plant you choose, there are three gearboxes on offer to get the horses to the road: there is a six-speed manual, a six-speed Steptronic box and an SMG box (sequential manual gearbox, the sort of thing you see on F1 racing cars controlled with the paddles on the steering wheel).
Interiors can be a little disappointing, not the quality, but some people expect more showmanship...again, this is a driver's car and it provides exactly what the driver needs. Let the rest read a book. Insurance groups range from 19 to 20.
