The BMW 7-Series is simply a luxury mode of transport. All that is good about it benefits everyone, not just the guy in the best seat. The car is cavernous, luxurious and full of every electronic gizmo you can conceivably think of. Huge engines power the thing along, with the 3.0ltr diesel the smallest of the bunch - a 6.0ltr V12 is at the top. All come with 6-speed automatic transmission.
BMW's i-Drive features large with the 7-series (an option on other ranges). It is an effort to clear the dash of clutter and control everything through a computer. It has had many negative reviews because it is not the easiest thing to get used to. And the thought of the cost if it ever went wrong is a nightmare. But everything including the suspension settings are controlled through this device in the 7-series.
There is also no way of getting away from the fact that this car is expensive to run. High insurance, thirsty engines and high servicing costs mean that to own one is a drain on the bank balance. That said, you get your money's worth, with excellent build, great comfort and features and mechanics that are unlikely to let you down.
