Citroen C1 car insurance quotes and insurance groups

Whatever guise this car comes in, it is cute and fun. The result of a collaboration between Citroen, Peugeot and Toyota, the C1 comes in 3- or 5-door versions and has the space to carry four adults comfortably. Almost everything is shared between the three versions except for some small things such as grill, headlight clusters and rear light lenses.

All three versions are made in a Toyota run factory, so the build quality is great whichever is chosen. The interior is nicely different with the central console the main feature (a cunning design device that makes it easy to change from right to left hand drive).

Around town, the drive is excellent, with power steering and vast areas of glass making visibility and manoeuvring easy. Gearing is such that even motorway driving isn't fraught. Two engines are offered: a 68bhp, three-cylinder 1.0ltr petrol engine sourced from Toyota and a 55bhp 1.4ltr diesel from the French alliance. Although the diesel produces a better consumption, it is only marginal and the low-rev power doesn't seem to match the spirit of the car as well as the little petrol engine.

Running costs are understandably low with a consumption of over 60mpg, low emissions and insurance in the lowest group.
