Jaguar S-TYPE car insurance quotes and insurance groups

Another illustration of retro success, the S-Type Jaguar harks back to the S-Type of the 60s, which got a reputation as the perfect getaway car.

There are two engines available: a 3.0ltr V6 petrol and a 2.7ltr V6 diesel. The R performance version uses a supercharged 4.2ltr V8. All come with a six-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The V6 petrol engines give a nice exhaust sound, but are quiet at speed. The diesel is very smooth as is the gearbox. The diesel is also the most economic, with good consumption figures and emissions.

The car had reliability and build problems at first, but Jaguar have worked hard to make improvements and this shows.

Stability control and anti-skid brakes are standard as are some impressive security features to keep the car out of th hands of the passing thief.

The interior is smart, with controls where you want them. However, the centre consol is full of switches because of all the equipment available and this could get a little confusing on the move.

However, seating is very comfortable, with plenty of adjustment available in seat and steering wheel to ensure a comfortable driving position. There is even an option of electrically adjusted pedals.

Space wise, the car is narrower than the German opposition and the rear legroom less.

Insurance is groups 14-19.
