Mercedes C CLASS car insurance quotes and insurance groups

It seems to be a trend, but the new C-Class has got bigger. More length, more width, more space. It has also been cunningly designed to appeal to two markets at the same time. The old car was for those of a staid nature who enjoyed the more refined things in life. What Mercedes needed if they were to reclaim their position next to BMW and Audi in this sector were a younger breed looking for excitement. So they designed the C-Class to appeal to their traditional market and added a sport version with different looks to appeal to the young go-getters.

The catchphrase at the launch of the new C-Class was 'agility-control' and indeed a lot of effort appears to have gone into building a car that is more responsive than the old model without losing any of the refined ride.

Internally, the C-Class is 'classy' with the SE and Elegance models having the faux wood affect and the Avant Garde or Sport as it is now known, the grey and black elegance we have come to expect. Like Audi and BMW, Mercedes have decided to add a control system with which to operate all the peripheral equipment. Called COMAND, it is easier than BMW's i-Drive to operate and understand, but still not as good as Audi's MMI.

Power units include 1.8ltr, 2.0ltr, 2.3ltr, 2.8ltr and 3.5ltr petrol engines, and the 2.2ltr and 3.2ltr CDI diesels.

Insurance ranges from group 13 to 18 with the AMG coming in at 20.
