The Lancer is one of those cars that could easily be overlooked. Except that it is so keenly priced that it becomes good value for money. The car can accommodate 4 adults easily and a fifth on shorter trips, but more to the point, it can take their luggage with them.

Steering is tight and sharp and the MacPherson front struts and the multilink rear suspension come from the sport scar market to give a firm, responsive ride. 15inch discs on the front bring the car to a comfortable halt aided by anti-lock and brake force distribution.

Consumptions are in the mid 30s, depending on the gearbox installed, and insurance is in groups 9 -13.
