Nissan X-TRAIL car insurance quotes and insurance groups

The X Trail is Nissan's attack on the Rav 4 from Toyota, but with less style. However, it has other benefits.

Power units come in two petrol versions: the 2.0ltr and the 2.5ltr; and the 2.2ltr diesel. The diesel has the best pulling power and the 2.0ltr petrol comes in two-wheel drive.

The ride is excellent along country lanes and not that much worse around town. Noise is limited, although all engines make themselves known when pushed. The extra gear on the diesel makes it a more relaxed ride.

Build quality is good and, particularly, the interior trim gives a feeling of long-lasting durability. The driving position is good and the controls ergonomically sound. There is plenty of room for four adults, and even the fifth is ok for anything other than long trips.

Running costs are ok with the diesel, but it doesn't matter whether you choose petrol or diesel for the cost of maintenance and insurance (groups 9-12).

Luggage space is generous, with the addition of a handy plastic boot lining and cargo net. Other neat touches are an extra glove box in front of the driver and a drinks holder.
