Toyota AYGO car insurance quotes and insurance groups

The Aygo is the smallest Toyota and is the result of collaboration between Toyota, Citroen and Peugeot. Available in three or five door variants, the Aygo is powered by a three-cylinder 1.0ltr engine, which is surprisingly nippy as the car is extremely light, so there is little for the engine to pull. There is a choice of gearbox: either the 5-speed manual or the multi-mode, semi-auto box, both of which have their good an dbad points.

Suspension and running gear is pretty standard stuff, but works well, with ride and drive as good as any. There is a little lean around corners, but not sufficient to worry about. Toyota has a reputation for quality and the Aygo is not going to spoil it. In fact, all three cars that came from this collaboration are built in a Toyota-run factory to ensure that this is true.

Although there are bits of the car that are obviously cheap (untrimmed interior, the parcel shelf to name but two), the quality is there where it matters, in the dash and in controls and instrumentation. Space is also surprising. Two large people fit easily in the front and as long as they don't mind squeezing up a little, they would fit in the back too for anything but long journeys.

The Aygo is a cheap car to run. Residing in the lowest insurance groups, it also claims the lowest cumulative maintenance time to 60,000 miles - just 4.2 hours -- a fuel consumption of 61.4mpg and a three-year/60,000 mile warranty.
