The worst thing about the VW Fox is its name. Especially when linked with 'Urban' as it is in the higher spec version of the car. Neither town or country dwellers see the fox as a cuddly, cute animal - even if they read children's books!
So, with the name out of the way and the car's rivals all taking advantage, let's look beyond to the car. Again, not the best in the field. Plain is a great adjective. In fact so plain that you begin to look for something - anything - that is distinctive. Apart from the fact that the interior trim is made from a plant with some connection to a Pineapple and is unique to Brazil where the car is built, there is nothing.
It isn't as economic as its rivals. It drives ok, but, like any short car, can be caught out with some bumps. It isn't quieter or noisier than its counterparts and neither is it any more or less comfortable on longer journeys.
Although the price of the Fox matches closely that of its rivals, its level of equipment does not. This can also be said for its safety and security features where the rivals lead the pack. There is definitely sufficient room for four adults and the boot is big enough for their bags or the shopping.
