Petrol-powered cars are still more popular than diesel counterparts, according to a recent survey from contracthireandleasing.com. The company asked nearly 2,000 people what type of fuel their next car would use. About 35 per cent people responded that they’d prefer a petrol car next, while only 25 per cent said they’d opt for a diesel car. Around 10 per cent said they’d go for a hybrid car, despite vehicles of this type only accounting for around one per cent of the UK new car market in 2010. Only two per cent said they’d go for an electric car. About a quarter of people said that they had no intention of changing their current car any time soon.news
