If one of your new year's resolutions was to spend less on your monthly outgoings, it may not come as welcome news that a number of energy tariffs will be ending in February.

Tariffs from British Gas, EDF Energy and Npower will be concluding in a few weeks, but there's no need to panic. Whether you need a single or dual-fuel tariff, you still have plenty of time to switch your energy supplier and shop around for a better deal.

So, here are the tariffs coming to an end soon:

British Gas

  • Fixed Price February 2015 (Dual fuel)
  • Fix & Fall February 2015 (Dual fuel)

EDF energy

  • Blue+Price Promise February 2015 (Dual fuel)

iSupplyEnergy

  • iFix

M&S Energy

  • Capped Price (Dual fuel)

Npower

Sainsbury's Energy

Scottish Power

And if the thought of switching suppliers seems like more hassle than it's worth, then we have some good news for you: it could be getting easier than ever to change providers. The secretary of state for energy and climate change, Ed Davey, has called for more competition in the energy industry and shorter switching times, a potential double win for consumers

"We've introduced more competition in the energy market and made it much quicker for people to switch energy supplier," said Davey.

"The industry is delivering on my challenge so now my challenge is for more consumers to take advantage. There's never been a better time to shop around, switch and save money faster than ever before."

In fact, statistics from industry body Energy UK have shown that 3.1 million people shopped around to find a better deal on their electricity bills in 2014. So, what are you waiting for?
