Contents insurance

Contents insurance covers the items within your home that are not permanent fixtures and fittings - such as furniture, appliances and clothing etc.

Some insurance companies will also cover items within your garden and may offer policy add-ons, such as accidental damage cover or personal possessions cover for items taken outside of the home, such as handbags and jewellery etc.

Most policies exclude damage caused by pets. Remember, you should insure your contents for the replacement cost of everything as new.
