Drivers in Northolt are being warned to keep an eye on their vehicles after a series of thefts in the area, news which could prompt motorists to ensure they have adequate car insurance.

Burglars stole a grey Audi A6 from a home in Russell Road earlier this week, after breaking into the house to find the keys, the Ealing Times reports.

The car, which was newly-purchased by its owners, was only the latest in a spate of robberies which have had the police on alert.

Early last week, a driving instructor was the victim of a car theft which took place in the morning while she was asleep.

Additionally, a £10,000 Polo was stolen from a property in North Road, Southall, the previous day.

Recently, North Tyneside motorists were also encouraged by the police to be vigilant and keep valuables out of view in their vehicles.
