Basingstoke drivers are being urged to keep their vehicles secure following a spate of break-ins, which could have resulted in car insurance claims for the owners.
Some 11 vehicles in the Brighton Hill area were affected by the recent crimewave, which took place of January 22nd and 23rd.
Criminals made off with items including satellite navigation (satnav) systems, CDs, a pressure washer and games consoles.
"We are committed to preventing and detecting vehicle crime but we need the help of residents to help us discourage car criminals. Theft from and of a vehicle can happen to anyone and any vehicle, at any time," stated Police Community Support Officer Karla Hammond, from the Brighton Hill Safer Neighbourhoods team.
She went on to urge motorists to always remember to lock their vehicle and keep valuable items out of the sight of thieves.
Recently, police across Humberside urged motorists to remove their satnavs from their vehicles after parking up so as not to attract offenders.
