Work drivers 'a handful'

Motorists who drive for work purposes could be risking a claim on their car insurance by taking chances at the wheel.
Research by road safety charity Brake has shown that 15 per cent of these drivers admit to eating while driving. This compares with one in 25 other motorists.
Additionally, work drivers have been shown to be twice as likely as other motorists to use a handheld mobile at the wheel.
Cathy Keeler, head of campaigns for Brake, commented: "Driving is the most dangerous activity that most of us do on a daily basis.
"No one would dream of snacking on a sarnie or picking up the phone while using a chainsaw or doing any other safety-critical job - and we mustn't when driving."
Meanwhile, the organisation discovered earlier this year that one-tenth of work drivers admitted to having fallen asleep at the wheel over the past year.
