Angry drivers 'throw takeaways at others'

Stressed out drivers have been found to throw more than a wobbler when infuriated by other motorists.

Almost half of respondents surveyed by the RAC have been found to behave differently towards other drivers when not behind the wheel.

One driver became so incensed with another motorist that they threw a Chinese takeaway in their direction to show their feelings.

In response to the findings, the organisation is calling upon drivers to remember their manners this Easter and not let road rage spoil their holiday time.

Sheila Rainger, acting director of the RAC Foundation, commented: "Road rage can be the result if individuals allow themselves to get irate about the standards of others.

"For the safety of all road users, it's best for drivers to admit they can be at fault sometimes, and, recognising that they are not God's gift to motoring, raise a hand in apology rather than the Agincourt Salute."

Earlier findings by Zurich have shown that 50 per cent of Britons have been victims of road rage.
