Motorcyclists in West Mercia, Worcestershire, are being given the chance to enhance their riding ability - and potentially avoid a motorbike insurance claim.
An operation has been launched by the area's Safer Roads Partnership in a bid to reduce the number of casualties and fatalities on the county's roads.
Over the past three years, 20 deaths have occurred in connection with motorbikes, accounting for 21 per cent of the region's road fatalities, the Evesham Journal reports.
Posters are being put up to raise awareness of the need for safe rising, while bikers are also being given the chance to receive free training from the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
Vicki Bristow, communications manager for West Mercia's Safer Roads Partnership, commented: "This campaign is aiming to make motorcyclists and car users more aware of the risks that are present when they are out on the county's roads and also to increase the level of training on offer to motorcyclists within Worcestershire."
Meanwhile, a scheme entitled BikeSafe allows bikers up and down the country to receive advice and training from police motorcyclists.
