Website to help Brits fight motoring convictions

A new website is being launched with the aim of helping drivers identify whether they can challenge motoring convictions.

According to a recent government report, the number of speeding offences detected by cameras between 1999 and 2004 rose by almost 400 per cent.

Chief executive officer of Driving-Law.co.uk Alex Cooke said: "For the vast majority of the public, the only time they are likely to come into contact with the criminal justice system is as a result of a motoring offence."

He added that the website does not condone motoring offences but appreciates that everyone should have right to be represented fairly.

The website can advise motorists whether they would have a case to challenge a conviction and can deliver advice over the phone.

According to website Lawontheweb.co.uk, over two million drivers' licences in the UK will be endorsed with penalty points over the next year.
