Motorists in the Highlands are being urged to keep their speed down when travelling near local schools.
At Glencoe Primary School in Lochaber, permanent 20 mph speed restrictions have been introduced to persuade drivers to take extra care - and potentially help them avoid a car insurance claim.
The restrictions have also been implemented on a part-time basis at three schools in Ross and Cromarty and will be in force during times when children are arriving and departing from Gairloch Primary, Gairloch High and Hill of Fearn Primary School.
Meanwhile, roads in Skye are set to introduce the limit during similar hours near to MacDiarmid Primary and Struan Primary.
Commenting, councillor John Laing, chairman of the Highland council's Transport, Environment and Community Services Committee, said: "The council is committed to the road safety of our young people in the Highlands and I am delighted that when the speed limits at Edinbane, MacDiarmid and Struan Primaries become operational this will mean that three-quarters of all schools on Skye will have 20mph speed limits in place."
