A practical, fuel efficient Nissan currently only sold in Japan could be coming to Europe.
What Car? reports the company's next-generation Nissan Cube may arrive on forecourts across the continent including Britain after the model was well received in Japan.
Nissan's chief executive officer Carlos Ghosn has apparently confirmed the model has done better than expected, paving the way for export.
The magazine says: "With the current trend for practical but fashionable and fuel-efficient cars, the Cube is likely to have a strong future."
An electric model of the car has already been on show at events in the US and could well make it on to the production line.
Car insurance customers who are fans of Nissan's Micra model could be tempted by the small but roomy cube if it does arrive in the UK.
The Cube has already been seen on Britain's roads thanks to specialists like Car Importers Direct.
The model does around 41 miles to the gallon on average and reaches the Euro 3 emissions standard.
