Bike safety championed by volunteer group

A volunteer group has been formed in an ambitious effort to cut motorcycle accidents through advanced training.
East Sussex Advanced Motorcyclists (ESAM) has formed as an organisation hoping to reduce incidents in its region and offer general riding advice for free.
A website has already been launched with information on advanced riding skills, with social ride outs also being planned.
Quoted by the Mid Sussex Times, group representative Paula Goldsmith said: "We are seeing a growing number of young and inexperienced riders."
She added the group is aiming to attract as many riders as possible to go on advanced rider training courses to improve hazard prediction skills.
If the plan is successful, bikers could not only reduce their chances of injury but also potentially keep a lid on
motorbike insurance
costs by reducing the number of claims they make.
Motorcyclists could also qualify for discounts on their bike insurance if advanced riding courses are included in ongoing government plans to promote safer riding and driving on UK roads.
