Motorcyclists have been clocked at speeds of up to 110mph after Scottish police officers ran a crackdown on rural roads.
Patrols focused on East Fife and used unmarked vehicles, motorcycles and marked cars with officers employing "local
intelligence" in the operation.
Police said the aim was stamp out inappropriate and dangerous driving in an area which has recently seen a high
number of accidents.
Fife safety camera partnership manager Andrew Jones said: "Fife has some spectacular scenery on many of its rural
roads but these routes can prove treacherous when approached at inappropriate speeds."
According to the BBC, one of the worst offenders caught during the operation was a motorcyclist who was followed after
being spotted travelling at speeds of up to 110mph.
The rider has been reported for dangerous driving after being seen travelling with his hands off the handle bars at
one point.
Two other riders were stopped on the same stretch of road after being seen doing more than 100mph.
Riders caught speeding face a fine, points on their licence, a rise in their
motorbike insurance premiums and even a ban.
