Unique new sat nav for van drivers

Efficiency and safety levels could be boosted for commercial drivers thanks to a specially-designed sat nav system.
Navevo has developed the ProNav software package which is designed specifically for van and truck drivers.
The technology tailors route mapping according to the size and weight of a vehicle and guides drivers away from
unsuitable roads or restricted zones.
Navevo business development director David Guiver said: "We have developed ProNav to ensure its advanced
capability and ability to overcome many of the problems professional drivers face."
A unique warning feature means drivers can also see upcoming hazards such as steep hills, high cross winds and
grounding risks.
The gadget could therefore help prevent accidents and reduce the number of claims drivers and haulage firm bosses
have to make on van insurance
policies.
It could also help to keep drivers' fuel costs down by ensuring they waste less time following directions which take
them towards weight-restricted routes.
