Honda has finally fully unveiled a performance motorcycle which it first previewed last year and released for test drives in April.
The CB1000R created "quite a stir" at the 2007 Milan Motorcycle Show, according to the firm, before it was similarly well-received at its British debut in December.
A re-tuned version of the legendary 2007 Honda Fireblade 998cc engine is at the heart of the two-wheeler, now available from showrooms across the UK.
Honda said: "The CB1000R boasts a distinctive headlight cluster, sleek flanks, a muscular mid-section and purposefully crafted tail-unit, with a beautifully exposed four-spoke rear wheel and single-sided swingarm."
Bikers could use a dealer search facility on the firm's website to locate a showroom offering the new model, and could also opt to use the web to compare
motorbike insurance quotes.
Honda has also produced a 2008 version of the DN-01 model, featuring a wide, eye-catching red LED tail light array and yellow indicators.
