What does Zurich life insurance cover?

Zurich offers a range of life insurance policies that are designed to work in different ways to suit different needs:

  1. Level cover

With this type of policy the amount you’re covered for and the payout your family will receive stays the same throughout the length of your policy

  2. Increasing cover

If you choose to have increasing cover, the amount you’re covered for will increase by a set rate each year that you agree to at the start of your policy. Your premiums will also increase each year to pay for the increased cover

  3. Decreasing cover

Designed to cover a repayment mortgage or a loan, your cover will reduce each year as the mortgage amount owed reduces. Your cover will go down to zero by the end of the policy term

What optional extras are available?

Zurich insurance offers additional products you can add to your policy to tailor your cover:

Critical illness cover

You can choose to add critical illness cover when you take out your life insurance policy. Or you can take out a critical illness policy separately if you need different amounts of cover. This will pay out a lump sum if you’re diagnosed with a critical illness (as specified in your policy’s terms and conditions) during the policy term.

Children’s benefit cover

If you take out critical illness cover, you can add children’s benefit to it. This will pay up to £25,000 if your child is diagnosed with a critical illness during the term of the policy. This covers your children until their 22nd birthday.

Multi-fracture cover

You can add multi-fracture cover to a single or joint life insurance or critical illness policy. This will pay out a lump sum of £2,000, £4,000 or £6,000 (depending on your policy) if you end up having one of the fractures, dislocations, ligament tears or other injuries that are listed on the cover.

How much does Zurich life insurance cost?

This will depend on a number of factors including your age, any health conditions you have and whether you smoke.

The type of policy and the level of cover you need will also affect how much you’ll pay, but premiums can start from as little as £5 a month.
