Calculate the tax on your residential property in the UK. You have to pay stamp duty (SDLT) if you buy a property costing more than £125,000 in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, while in Scotland you pay land and building transaction tax (LBTT). Please note that this calculator only applies to people who will own one property at the end of the transaction. If you own two (even if one replaces your residential property) you pay additional stamp duty of 3%. It applies to any second property over £40,000 but is applied to the full property cost.
Use this calculator to work out how much stamp duty is payable.
